Congress Takes Potshots At PM Modi After Mohan Bhagwat's 'Super Man' Remark Goes Viral
RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat's comments at a village-level workers' meeting in Gumla, Jharkhand, have taken a political twist, with Congress aiming to connect his remarks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his speech, Bhagwat addressed the limitless nature of progress and human ambition, noting that people often aspire to become extraordinary figures like Superman or even God, reported The Print.
"There is no end to progress, and there is also no end to people's greed," Bhagwat said in the viral video.

"Is there ever an end to progress? Development is such a thing that once we reach it, we realise we can go further. When we reach our goal, we see that there is still more to go... man then wants to become a superman... in movies, they show Superman who has extraordinary powers. So a human wants to have such power... but he doesn't stop there. He then wants to become a Dev. But Devtas say Bhagwan is bigger than us, so then he wants to become Bhagwan."
Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh responded on X, hinting that Bhagwat's remarks were directed at Modi.
He said, "I am sure the self-anointed non-biological PM has got the news of this latest Agni missile, fired by Nagpur from Jharkhand and aimed at Lok Kalyan Marg," alongside a video clip of Bhagwat's speech.
Ramesh's comments referred to Modi's earlier statement from May, where he expressed his belief that God had sent him.
Modi had said, "Pehle jab tak maa zinda thi, mujhe lagta tha ki shayad biologically mujhe janam diya gaya hai. Maa ke jaane ke baad, in saare anubhavon ko main jod kar dekhta hoon to main convince ho chuka hu... ki parmatma ne mujhe bheja hai" (Till my mother was alive, I used to believe that I was born biologically. After she passed away, upon reflecting on all my experiences, I am convinced that God has sent me).
In his speech, Bhagwat also highlighted the ongoing nature of development and the necessity of continuous efforts.
"A lot of work is to be done... even if we have taught many children... a new generation is coming up which needs education... development is a continuous task. A worker should have a feeling that we have done so much, but a lot is left. You should not think that I planted so many saplings. Saplings have to be continuously planted. So something more will have to be done. A new generation will come and this will continue."
Bhagwat concluded by asserting that 'Sanatan Dharma' is committed to the welfare of mankind and noting that the world has started following India's roadmap for happiness after the pandemic.
