Congress set to lose Allahabad office for not paying Rs 35 a month rent
Allahabad, July 20: The Congress is likely to lose its Allahabad office due to non-pay of Rs 35 a month rent. The party has not paid rent for several years and the amount has accumulated to Rs 50,000.
The office which is located at the Chowk area in Allahabad has been the party office for over 70 years.

The building owner Raj Kumar Saraswat had served the notice for eviction of the property measuring 3,000 square feet earlier this year. He has not given the Congress an ultimatum of either paying the amount of vacating the office by July end.
Not wanting to lose the space, several Congress leaders have written to Rahul Gandhi to take note of the issue. There are also efforts on to pool money from office bearers of the party and activists in the city and clear the dues.
