Congress seems to get a clear majority in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi, Dec 11: Trends coming in from the tribal-dominated state Chattisgarh are more or less clear that the Congress has made a substantive lead in the state and if this trend continues, the party is likely to form the government in the state. The alliance formed by Bahujan Samaj Party and the political party of Ajit Jogi Janata Congress Chhattisgarh has been able to do much. Even Ajit Jogi is trailing from Marwahi seat.

The BJP was facing anti-incumbency of 15 years but the aggressive campaigning of Congress president Rahul Gandhi specially his corruption allegations against the central government and directly accusing the PM has done the trick for the party. He emerged as a leader at least in these elections. Moreover, tribals have also gone against the BJP in the state and Salva Judoom also did not work.

Political analyst said that had the alliance of the BSP and Jogi's party not been there, the Congress would have been doing much better than this. The Chhattisgarh government failed to do much against the Naxals and despite no credible leaders, the Congress has been able to do this bit in the state. The BJP is likely to get a decisive defeat in the state

Sources said that lots of mistakes have been committed by Raman Singh and the Congress' promise of loan waiver for farmers has worked for the party a lot. This is a big issue not only in Chhattisgarh but also in Madhya Pradesh.
