Congress rubbishes reports of abolishing income tax for those under the age of 35 if voted to power
New Delhi, July 27: Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Friday rubbished reports that the grand old party may abolish Income Tax for those below the age of 35 if voted to power in 2019.

A report published in The Print had earlier claimed that the Congress was considering a proposal promising no income tax for those under the age of 35.
The report, while quoting a source, stated that the idea was discussed during a meeting of the Congress' top leadership on 13 July.
It was reported that the Congress may make such promise to woo the young voters. It must be noted that more than 70 per cent of the India's population is below the age of 35. This translates to around 80 crore people ander the age of 35.
