More Congress Leaders in MP May Switch to BJP as Elections Approach, Says Deputy CM Devda

Indore, March 20 - In a significant political development, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda revealed that several prominent Congress leaders are poised to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unconditionally in the lead-up to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. This announcement was made during an election meeting of party workers at the BJP office in Indore.

MP Congress Leaders Eyeing BJP Switch

According to Devda, the migration of Congress leaders to the BJP is driven by dissatisfaction with the policies of their current party. "You are seeing big leaders of Congress across the country are joining the BJP as they are angry with the policies of the Grand Old Party," he stated, suggesting that this discontent is why many are hesitant to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Deputy Chief Minister also commented on the public's perception of the Congress, stating, "The common people do not trust Congress anymore." He further hinted that more significant defections from the Congress in Madhya Pradesh to the BJP could be expected soon, attributing this trend to the appealing working style of the BJP government.

In response to inquiries about BJP candidate Vivek Bunty Sahu being perceived as a less formidable contender against Chhindwara MP Nakul Nath, Devda dismissed such suggestions. He emphasized that the Lok Sabha polls are a collective effort by the BJP and confidently stated, "None of our candidates is weak."

Speculation has been rife about potential party switches by Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath to the BJP. However, Kamal Nath has categorically denied these rumors, labeling them as media fabrications. This political scenario unfolds as both parties gear up for a closely contested battle in the upcoming national elections.

The unfolding political dynamics in Madhya Pradesh highlight a broader trend of shifting allegiances ahead of crucial electoral contests. With key figures potentially changing camps, the landscape of Indian politics continues to evolve, reflecting deeper undercurrents of dissatisfaction and strategic realignments within major political parties.
