Congress Appoints New State Chiefs For J&K, Jharkhand Ahead Of Assembly Polls
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reshuffled key positions in the election-bound States of Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand and made two significant appointments to the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
In Jammu and Kashmir, where the election schedule has been declared, Kharge appointed Tariq Hameed Karra as the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, replacing Vikar Rasool Wani.

Also, Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla, both from the Jammu region, have been named working presidents.
In Jharkhand, Keshav Mahto Kamlesh has been appointed as the new PCC chief, replacing Rajesh Thakur.
Senior leader Rameshwar Oraon has been named the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the Jharkhand Assembly.
Two leaders from Maharashtra have also been brought into the CWC.
Former Maharashtra PCC chief Balasaheb Thorat has been made a member of the CWC, while Mohd. Arif Naseem Khan has been appointed as a special invitee to the committee.
