BJP Claims Congress and AAP Are Now Exposing Each Other's Corruption Allegations

Senior BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi has accused Congress and AAP of mutual corruption exposure. He noted that six months ago, they had cleared each other of wrongdoing. Trivedi highlighted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's statement on the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, calling it blatant corruption and accusing AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of being corrupt. Trivedi made these remarks during a press conference.

BJP: Congress and AAP Expose Corruption

Trivedi criticised Kejriwal for self-proclaiming honesty despite allegations. He pointed out that Kejriwal accused Congress of involvement in the National Herald case. According to Trivedi, both scams are unprecedented in Indian politics. The liquor scam involved a policy reversal by the government, which was later defended by AAP in the media.

Allegations and Political Dynamics

The National Herald case is significant as it involves a party allegedly defrauding its own institution, Trivedi claimed. He emphasised that BJP had no involvement in either case. The National Herald investigation began in October 2013 under the Congress-led UPA government. The first accusation regarding the liquor scam also came from Congress.

Trivedi asserted that the true nature of AAP, once considered staunchly honest, is now exposed by its former ally. Both AAP and Congress are part of the opposition INDIA bloc, formed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. They previously contested general elections together in Delhi.

Political Accusations and Public Perception

Trivedi mentioned Kejriwal's controversial statements about Haryana, which were proven politically and constitutionally incorrect. He suggested that even an apology from Kejriwal would be inadequate after the Election Commission's questioning. Trivedi claimed that both parties have been dishonest with the people of Delhi.

He alleged that Congress lied about the National Herald case while AAP misled on the liquor scam. Trivedi accused AAP of polluting the Yamuna despite receiving Rs 8,500 crore from the Centre for its cleaning. BJP's Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva echoed these sentiments.

Upcoming Elections and Public Sentiment

Sachdeva stated that Delhi residents recognise AAP and Congress as equally corrupt. He suggested they might reconcile before elections. Sachdeva urged citizens to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a double-engine government in Delhi.

The upcoming elections for Delhi's 70-member Assembly are scheduled for February 5, with vote counting on February 8. Sachdeva claimed that AAP and Congress have looted Delhi over the past 26 years, urging voters to back BJP for change.
