CM Atishi Requests 'Urgent Appointment' From Chief Election Commissioner Ahead Of Delhi Assembly Polls 2025

With the Delhi Assembly elections just three weeks away, CM Atishi has reached out to the Chief Election Commissioner again. On Wednesday, she penned another letter seeking an urgent meeting. This marks her second attempt to secure an appointment.

In her correspondence with Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Atishi referenced her previous letter dated 5th January 2025. She highlighted concerns about significant voter deletions and additions in the New Delhi assembly constituency. Atishi had initially requested a meeting to discuss these issues directly.

Urgent Concerns Over Voter Changes

The Delhi CM expressed urgency in addressing these matters, noting that the local CEO's office is currently verifying the facts mentioned in her letter. She received a response from Lalit Mittal, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, confirming this verification process.

"Sir, in my letter, I sought an urgent appointment with your good self to personally discuss this matter and seek directions since this matter is beyond the scope of the local CEO," Atishi stated. With less than 27 days remaining until the elections, she emphasized the need for prioritizing this issue.

Ensuring Fair Elections

Atishi stressed that Delhi is the only state holding elections at this time. Consequently, both national media and citizens will be closely monitoring the electoral process. She reiterated her trust in the Election Commission of India to maintain free and fair elections.

"Once again, I would like to ask you to please give an appointment as soon as possible to ensure free and fair elections in the upcoming Delhi Assembly," she concluded. Her plea underscores the importance of addressing these electoral concerns promptly.
