CLAT 2025 Answer Key Errors: Delhi High Court Orders Revised Results For All Candidates

The Delhi High Court has directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (Consortium) to revise the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 for undergraduate programmes, according to a Times Now report. This decision follows a petition filed by Aditya Singh, a 17-year-old candidate, challenging the accuracy of the final answer key for the exam held recently.

Aditya Singh filed the case Aditya Singh (Minor) vs Consortium Of National Law Universities, claiming errors in two questions from Set A of the exam paper. He requested a correction to the answer key and a temporary halt to the counselling process.

Justice Jyoti Singh, leading the bench, found the errors in questions 14 and 100 to be "demonstrably clear" and declared that ignoring these mistakes would result in unfairness to candidates. The court directed the Consortium to award marks to candidates who chose option 'C' for question 14 and to exclude question 100 from the evaluation.

In her 29-page ruling, Justice Singh stated, "The benefit cannot be restricted only to the Petitioner and will extend to all candidates who have opted for option 'C'." The Consortium was also ordered to update the results and ensure fairness to all affected candidates.

The Consortium's counsel, senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, argued that the petition lacked merit and claimed that Singh's objections to the answer key had no legal basis. He also questioned the Delhi High Court's jurisdiction, noting that the Consortium is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. However, the court dismissed this argument, stating that part of the cause of action occurred within its territorial jurisdiction since Singh took the exam in Delhi.

The ruling ensures that the revised results will reflect the court's decision, bringing clarity and fairness to the CLAT 2025 evaluation process.
