Class 10, 12 Board Exams Question Paper Leaked? Here's What CBSE Said

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification and cautioned students against false exam paper leak rumours during the ongoing Class 10 and 12 exams. Students and parents are advised to rely only on official updates. The Class 10 and 12 board exams began recently and will conclude on April 4, 2025.

However, some miscreants have spread false news of paper leaks on social media platforms.

Reacting to such claims, the examination conducting body termed them as baseless stating that miscreants only intend to create unnecessary panic among students.

CBSE's Response to Misinformation

Himanshu Gupta, the Board Secretary, stated that CBSE is collaborating with law enforcement agencies to identify those spreading false information. Legal action will be taken against individuals involved in such activities under CBSE's rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Students found participating in these activities will face penalties.

Parents are encouraged to advise their children not to believe or share unverified information as it disrupts the examination process. Official updates should be obtained from CBSE's website (www.cbse.gov.in) and other verified sources. The public is reminded to remain cautious of false news during this period.

Enhanced Security Measures for Exams

This year, CBSE has introduced stricter security measures for the board exams. These include CCTV surveillance in exam halls, gender-specific frisking, and strict action against mobile phone usage or spreading rumours. Clear guidelines have been issued for exam centre staff, students, and parents to ensure fair conduct.

In 2025, a total of 42,00,237 students are appearing for the CBSE Board exams. This marks an increase of 3,14,695 candidates compared to last year's figure of 38,85,542. Among them, 24,12,072 students are in Class 10 while 17,88,165 are in Class 12. The exams are being conducted at 7,842 centres nationwide.

As part of the new CCTV policy, all schools designated as exam centres must now have CCTV facilities installed. This measure aims to maintain transparency and integrity throughout the examination process.
