Clash Between Student Groups at Jamia Millia Islamia Results in Several Injuries
A violent altercation reportedly erupted between two student groups at Jamia Millia Islamia on Friday night, resulting in several injuries. The university administration has not yet commented, and no police complaint has been lodged. According to campus sources, five to six students were injured and received treatment at MA Ansari Health Centre before being discharged.

Sources indicate that tensions began around 11 pm on Thursday following a minor incident. A student from Mewat was allegedly attacked by students from Bihar, leading to further conflict. In retaliation, Mewat students reportedly entered the hostel and assaulted students from Bihar and western Uttar Pradesh.
Campus Violence Escalates
The situation intensified after Friday prayers when both groups allegedly gathered near Gate No. 7 for another confrontation. During this clash, sticks, bricks, and stones were reportedly used as weapons. University security personnel intervened to manage the escalating violence.
The incident occurred near Gate No. 7 of the university, where bricks and stones were reportedly thrown during the confrontation. Despite the severity of the situation, no formal complaints have been filed with either the police or the university administration as of late Friday night.
Lack of Official Response
As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from either the police or the university regarding the incident. The absence of an official response leaves many questions unanswered about the events that transpired.
The university's security staff attempted to control the situation during the clash. However, without a formal complaint or official acknowledgment, it remains unclear how the incident will be addressed moving forward.
The lack of immediate response from both authorities highlights a gap in addressing campus violence promptly. This incident underscores the need for effective communication and swift action in such situations to ensure student safety.
