The Supreme Court shared that CJI Gavai, during his three-day visit to Mauritius, also met with Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

CJI Gavai's visit to Mauritius was at the invitation of Chief Justice Rehana Bibi Mungly-Gulbul. During his stay, he and his family participated in Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute. They paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, honouring the father of the nation.

India-Mauritius Cultural and Historical Ties

During a meeting with Prime Minister Ramgoolam, discussions highlighted the vibrant cultural connections and people-to-people ties that strengthen the India-Mauritius relationship. Ramgoolam expressed fond memories of his recent successful state visit to India, further cementing the bond between the two nations.

In another significant meeting, CJI Gavai conversed with Deputy Prime Minister Paul Berenger. They discussed the enduring historical and cultural ties that unite India and Mauritius. These discussions underscored the deep-rooted connections that have long existed between the two countries.
