Actress Chrisann Pereira Returns Home After 4 Months, Sharjah Horror Trip Finally Ends
Actress Chrisann Pereira who was arrested in Sharjah in connection with fake drug charges finally returned home in the wee hours on Thursday. The actress had a tearful welcome from her family at the Mumbai airport.
Chrisann's father hugged her at the Mumbai airport and soon broke down. Her brother gave her a warm welcome and kissed her forehead to comfort her. Her mother also surprised her by getting their pet dog along, which left the actor smiling.

Chrisann who went to Sharjah in April on professional commitments was mistakenly arrested by the Sharjah authorities in an alleged fake drug case due to which the actress had to spend around three weeks in jail. However, after a long battle and with Mumbai Police's support, she was eventually acquitted of all the charges against her in June.
Mumbai DCP Raj Tilak Roushan while addressing a press conference said, "Chrisann has been arrested in Sharjah for a drugs case and got bail. Here, her mother made a complaint regarding the case that she didn't take it (drugs) herself, it has been planted and a few people have played a role in this so, we need to bring her justice. We took her application and registered an FIR on which we investigated and found that three people who had a rivalry with her gave her a memento in which they planted drugs."
The 27-year-old actress who has previously worked in films Sadak 2 and Batla House was arrested by the Sharjah police on April 1 after a Mumbai bakery owner, Anthony Paul, allegedly framed her in a drugs case. Paul made his friend Rajesh Borate pose as talent manager Ravi and approached the actor.
Ravi allegedly told Pereira to attend an audition for an international web series in Sharjah for which tickets and hotels were booked. On April 1, when she was to leave for Sharjah, Ravi handed her a memento with drugs hidden in it. The accused then tipped off the Sharjah police who arrested the actor.
A probe by Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that Paul was allegedly upset with Pereira's mother over a fight they had during Covid and planned this as revenge.
