Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav unveiled plans to develop Chitrakoot, a crucial destination in Lord Rams life, similar to Ayodhya. The Ram Van Path Gaman Marg and other key sites will be enhanced, aiming to establish Chitrakoot as a prominent religious destination.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Tuesday that Chitrakoot, a town closely associated with the life of Lord Ram, will undergo significant development to become a prominent religious destination, similar to Ayodhya. The state government plans to enhance major locations along the Ram Van Path Gaman Marg, including Chitrakoot, and create a comprehensive action plan for its transformation.

Chitrakoot to be Developed as a Major Religious Destination
During the inaugural meeting of the Shri Ramchandra Path Gaman Nyas in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the importance of developing the town as the most significant religious destination related to Lord Ram's life. He directed officials to showcase exhibitions highlighting Lord Ram's life and information about the Ram Van Path Gaman during the renowned Diwali Fair and Amavasya Fair of Chitrakoot. Additionally, the construction of the Parikrama Path of Lord Kamtanath is set to commence shortly.
Book on Madhya Pradesh Temples Released
Chief Minister Yadav also unveiled a book showcasing the temples of Madhya Pradesh, featuring photographs of 155 major temples and details about 6,800 Ram temples. Principal Secretary of the Endowments and Culture Department, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, presented the action plan for the Ram Van Path Gaman Marg, which covers a distance of 1,450 kilometers within the state. The route encompasses 23 prominent religious destinations, including Satna, Panna, Katni, Amarkantak, Shahdol, and Umaria.
Officials in Attendance
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Minister of State for Endowments Dharmendra Singh Lodhi and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Dr. Rajesh Rajora, among others.
The development of Chitrakoot as a major religious destination will not only enhance its spiritual significance but also boost tourism and economic growth in the region. By drawing inspiration from Ayodhya, the state government aims to create a world-class pilgrimage site that attracts devotees from across the country and beyond.
