Enhanced Support for Soldiers and Families
The financial assistance for gallantry award recipients has been increased from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Additionally, the Jangi Inaam motivational grant for soldiers' parents has been raised from Rs 5,000 per year to Rs 20,000 per year. These changes aim to provide better support to those who serve the nation.
During the meeting, it was also decided that soldiers disabled in war and military operations will now receive Rs 30 lakh instead of the previous Rs 10 lakh. This substantial increase reflects the state's dedication to acknowledging the sacrifices made by its servicemen.
Stamp Duty Exemption for Servicemen
In a move to further assist serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, widows, and dependents, the government has introduced a stamp duty exemption of up to Rs 25 lakh on their first land or house purchase. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ease financial burdens on military families.
Brigadier Vivek Sharma (retd), Director of Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board, provided a report on RSB's activities. The meeting included discussions on suggestions for improving conditions for ex-servicemen, which the government promised to consider positively.
The Chief Minister highlighted that ensuring the welfare of soldiers is a collective responsibility. "The safety of 140 crore Indians is in the hands of the nation's brave soldiers," he noted. The decisions made will benefit ex-servicemen, widows, and their families significantly.
The government's initiatives reflect a strong commitment to honouring and supporting those who dedicate their lives to national service. By increasing financial aid and introducing new benefits, Chhattisgarh aims to provide comprehensive support to its servicemen and their families.
