Chhattisgarh: Congress MLA Vikram Mandavi narrowly escapes Naxal attack in Bijapur
Chhattisgarh Congress MLA Vikram Mandavi had a narrow escape after his convoy was attacked by Naxals near Padeda village in Bijapur district. The incident took place when the Congress MLA was returning from a public meeting.
Naxalites also fired at the vehicle of district panchayat member Parvati Kashyap, who was a part of the MLA's convoy.

However, there was no casualty reported and all the people who were part of the convoy are said to be safe. A large number of police personnel have been deployed in the area and searches are being conducted.
In November 2022, security forces killed four Naxals during a day-long encounter in the Bijapur district.
After receiving specific input on the presence of at least 50 Naxals in the area, a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Task Force (STF) and the DRG initiated a combat operation.
Of 4, two Naxals were women and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from them.
"The Naxals had gathered to plan an attack on works in the area," India Today quoted Bastar's Inspector General of Police P Sundarraj as saying.
