Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday attended the closing ceremony of the National Trade Expo 2026 organized by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) at BTI Ground in Raipur. Addressing the gathering, he said that along with agriculture, Chhattisgarh has built a favorable ecosystem for trade and industry, inviting traders and industrial representatives to bring forward investment proposals.

The second year progressed under the theme "GATI," and this year's budget is centered on "SANKALP," reflecting a renewed commitment to development.

Sai informed that the budget includes provisions for establishing Education Cities in remote areas such as Abujhmad and Jagargunda. Efforts are also underway to promote agriculture and add value to forest produce, particularly in Bastar and Surguja, which are rich in diverse forest resources.

Highlighting Chhattisgarh's ecological strength, he said nearly 44 percent of the state's geographical area is forested. Under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, 7 crore saplings have been planted, along with large-scale compensatory plantation linked to industrial projects.

Vision 2047 and Industrial Growth

The Chief Minister said that in line with the Prime Minister's goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, Chhattisgarh has prepared a comprehensive Vision Document. The state aims to double its current GSDP within five years and raise it to Rs 75 lakh crore by 2047.

He added that the new Industrial Policy is delivering positive results. Through investment meets held in major cities, the state has received proposals worth approximately Rs 8 lakh crore. Work has already begun on several projects, including those in semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.

Traders Key to Developed Chhattisgarh

Sai said the trading community will play a crucial role in achieving the goal of a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047. He congratulated CAIT for successfully organizing the National Trade Expo 2026. During the event, the Chief Minister visited various stalls, interacted with participants, and released a Swadeshi poster published by CAIT. Also present were National Traders' Welfare Board Chairman Sunil Singhi, Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey, CAIT National Vice President Amar Parwani, senior office-bearers of CAIT Chhattisgarh, and several distinguished citizens.
