Chennai Shocker: Viral Pic on Facebook and WhatsApp! Youth burns national flag, in trouble

Chennai, Feb 1: Dilipan Mahendran, a resident of Chennai, has landed in legal trouble following his picture in which he was seen burning national flag.

Dilipan first posted his infamous picture on social networking site Facebook and later removed the photo. However, he was late in removing the photo. By the time he deleted the photo from his timeline, the photo had gone viral on Facebook and messaging app WhatsApp.

Dilipan, who claimed to have burnt the tricolour agitating against the death of three medical students in the state and the suicide of dalit student of Hyderabad University, Rohith Vemula.

The 25-year-old received mixed response on Facebook and WhatsApp. While a group supported Dilipan, most of the people on the social networking sites criticised him.

Two persons including private airlines pilot CR Naveenkumar filed a legal complaint with Chennai Police against Dilipan. Meanwhile, police sources informed that they have received several online complaints against Dilipan.
