Chandrababu Naidu Claims Jagan Mohan Reddy Harmed Rayalaseema's Irrigation

On March 27, in Palamaneru, Andhra Pradesh, TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu launched a scathing attack on YSRCP chief and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of severely damaging the irrigation sector in the Rayalaseema region. Naidu claimed that during Reddy's tenure, not a single acre was supplied with water over the past five years. He also accused the Chief Minister of allowing the unchecked distribution of spurious liquor, ganja (marijuana), and other drugs across Rayalaseema villages.

Naidu Criticizes Reddys Irrigation Policy

Addressing a public gathering named Prajagalam, Naidu contrasted his vision for Andhra Pradesh with that of Jagan Mohan Reddy's. He stated, "My vision is to create assets and increase the revenue of everyone in the state while Jagan always works to loot the people only to fill his own pockets." Naidu highlighted the urgency to dismantle what he described as the "wicked and cruel force" of the YSRCP. He emphasized that various societal segments, including farmers who have been denied subsidies and minimum support prices for their produce, are eager to see the ruling party defeated.

Naidu made several promises to the electorate, including the immediate regularization of electricity charges should the NDA come to power in Andhra Pradesh. The upcoming elections are set to be a significant event with the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats at stake. Scheduled for May 13, with vote counting on June 4, these elections will test the strength and appeal of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Andhra Pradesh, comprising TDP, Janasena, and BJP.

The allegations made by Naidu highlight a deep-seated rivalry in Andhra Pradesh's political landscape, reflecting broader concerns over governance and public welfare in the state. As election day approaches, these issues are expected to dominate political discourse, influencing voter sentiment across Andhra Pradesh.
