The petition was filed on June 1.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the police to file a report on the allegations that Kuldeep Barala, the nephew of Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala had pressurised a minor to drop charges. The victim has alleged that the police had not acted against the accused due to pressure from Subhash Barala. She said that there was enough evidence to act against the accused. In her petition she said, " till date no action has been taken against the respondents because they are very influential people and close relative of MLA of the Tohana constituency (Subhash Barala). Hence, local police under their influence are not taking any action"

The petition was filed on June 1. On the previous date of hearing, the court had sought for a copy of the victim's statement under Section 163 of the Cr.PC. It was alleged that the girl was illegally confined till midnight at Dhani Shera village in Tohana. The FIR of kidnapping was first registered on May 8 at Tohana police station in which the girl had alleged that Vikram Singh of the same village as the girl had abducted her after conspiring with Kuldeep, his wife and others. Vikram is a distant relative of Barala.
