Champai Soren To Join BJP, Confirms Himanta Biswa Sarma After Jharkhand Ex CM Meets Amit Shah
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and one of the founding members of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Champai Soren will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. The announcement was made by Assam CM Hemanta Biswa Sarma on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Today, Jharkhand Ex CM Champai Soren met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. A picture of their meeting in Delhi was also posted by Hemanta Biswa.

"Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and a distinguished Adivasi leader of our country, @ChampaiSoren Ji met Hon'ble Union Home Minister @AmitShah Ji a short while ago. He will officially join the @BJP4India on 30th August in Ranchi." the tweet reads.
Champai Soren's decision to join hands with BJP is surely going to impact the Opposition as in the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 as the latter has a good holding in tribes and locals of the state.
Speculations of Champai Soren joining the BJP have been going on since last week. However, speaking to the media, the 67-year-old tribal leader had denied such a move, adding that all option are open for him. Media reports also claimed that he was planning to float his own political outfit, but now, he will be joining BJP.
He had to quit as Chief Minister after Hemant Soren was released from jail.
