Central Sanskrit University Celebrates Inaugural Convocation: Honouring Tradition And Innovation
Central Sanskrit University embarked on a historic journey with its inaugural convocation held on March 7, 2024. The ceremony commenced with a heartfelt welcome from Professor Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice Chancellor of the university, setting the stage for an inspiring event.
The distinguished presence of the Honourable President, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, added grandeur to the event. Her convocation address highlighted Sanskrit's timeless wisdom, its influence on languages worldwide, and Mahatma Gandhi's advocacy for Sanskrit literacy.

Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, and Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan graced the occasion. Minister Pradhan emphasised the profound significance of Sanskrit in Indian culture, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support for institutions like Central Sanskrit University.

Presiding over the ceremony, Chancellor Pradhan expressed pride in witnessing the historic event and envisioned a bright future for the graduating students. Professor Shrinivasa Varakhedi led the proceedings with grace, emphasising the convocation's significance in celebrating academic achievement and the values instilled by Central Sanskrit University.
The ceremony honoured the hard work and dedication of over 3000 graduating students. Noteworthy were the awards presented to five outstanding scholars:
Dr. P.K. Madhavan - Modern Sanskrit Literature
Dr. Leena Rastogi - Sanskrit Marathi Language Scholarship
Prof. Gaya Charan Tripathi - Oriental Knowledge, Matrika Scholarship
Dr. Devisahay Pandey - Vedic Studies, Ayodhya
Shataavdhani Dr. Ganesha - Meditation Mastery

In total, 3000 students received their degrees, carrying with them the enduring legacy of Central Sanskrit University.
Central Sanskrit University, under the guidance of Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, initiated five innovative courses:
Linking Ayurvedic Education with Gurukul Learning: Establishing 25 new Gurukul colleges across India, facilitating Ayurvedic education accessibility.
Promoting Indian Knowledge Tradition (IKS) and Integrated Research Study Method: Creating opportunities for Sanskrit researchers to collaborate with scientific institutions.
Launching Innovative Courses in Ancient Jurisprudence: Introducing a course named 'Ganeshastra' for in-depth study of Sanskrit scriptures.
Moral Education Campaign: Integrating moral education into the curriculum through Sanskrit texts like Panchatantra.
Introduction of Olympiads: Spreading awareness of Sanskrit, Geeta, and Indian arts globally through Olympiad competitions.

These initiatives highlight Central Sanskrit University's commitment to promoting Sanskrit education and preserving India's cultural heritage. The convocation ceremony symbolised a celebration of academic excellence and a reaffirmation of India's timeless wisdom, inspiring future generations to embrace tradition while embracing innovation.
