Key Achievements Highlighted by PM Modi

Mobile Manufacturing Boom: Modi pointed out the exponential growth in mobile manufacturing, noting that India had only two mobile manufacturing units in 2014, which have now increased to over 200. Mobile exports surged from ₹1,556 crore to a remarkable ₹1.2 lakh crore, marking a staggering 7,500% increase.

Domestic Production: He emphasized that 99% of mobile phones used in India are now produced domestically, positioning India as the second-largest mobile manufacturer globally.

Diverse Sector Growth: Other sectors, including steel, semiconductors, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and defence, have also experienced substantial growth. Modi highlighted that India has become a net exporter of finished steel and that investments in semiconductor manufacturing have exceeded ₹1.5 lakh crore, with new facilities expected to produce over seven crore chips daily.

Renewable Energy Expansion: Modi noted that India is now the fourth-largest producer of renewable energy globally, with its capacity increasing by 400% in the past decade. The electric vehicle sector, virtually non-existent in 2014, is now valued at $3 billion.

Defense Sector Success: The defence industry has seen exports grow from ₹1,000 crores to ₹21,000 crores, reaching over 85 countries. Modi also highlighted the toy industry's impressive growth, with exports increasing by 239% and imports halving, benefitting local manufacturers.

Empowering Ordinary Citizens

The Prime Minister underscored the 'Make in India' initiative's role in empowering ordinary citizens, particularly within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. He stated, "It has given the poor the wings to dream big and aspire - it has given them the confidence that they can be wealth creators."

Modi attributed significant investments and job creation to government measures like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, which have improved the ease of doing business in the country.

A Vision for the Future

Reflecting on a decade of progress, Modi expressed pride in how far India has come, stating, "The imprint of 'Make in India' has become visible across sectors, including areas where we never even dreamt of making an impact." He called upon young entrepreneurs to continue driving the nation forward, emphasizing the importance of quality manufacturing and innovation.

"Delivery quality should be our commitment. Zero defect should be our mantra. Together, we can build an India that not only meets its own needs but also serves as a manufacturing and innovation powerhouse for the world," he concluded, highlighting India's promising future in the global economy.
