CBSE Sample Papers 2025: Everything You Need To Know About The New Maths Exam Format
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 10 board exams starting from February 2025. To help students prepare effectively, CBSE has released the latest sample paper for Mathematics. This paper is designed to help students understand important mathematical concepts and enhance their problem-solving skills. By practising with the sample paper, students can get familiar with the question format and develop better time management strategies for the exams.
The Mathematics exam for CBSE Class 10 will be divided into five sections: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D, and Section E. The question paper will have a total of 38 questions, all of which are mandatory. However, some questions will have internal choices, allowing students to select one alternative.
Here is a breakdown of the exam pattern:
Section A: This section will have Questions 1-18, which are multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and Questions 19-20, which are Assertion-Reason type questions. Each question is worth 1 mark.
Section B: Questions 21-25 will be very short answer (VSA) type questions, with each question carrying 2 marks.
Section C: Questions 26-31 will be short answer (SA) type questions, each worth 3 marks.
Section D: Questions 32-35 will be long answer (LA) type questions, each carrying 5 marks.
Section E: This section will include Questions 36-38, which are based on case studies. These questions will be valued at 4 marks, with sub-parts worth 1, 1, and 2 marks respectively.
The CBSE has also made previous years' question papers available for download, providing students with additional resources to enhance their preparation. This will help students get a better idea of the types of questions asked and the marking scheme.
