Caught On Camera: Fly-by-Wire Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing At HAL Airport
A private aircraft narrowly avoided an air tragedy on Tuesday when it made an emergency landing at Bengaluru's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport after its nose landing gear could not be retracted after takeoff.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Fly By Wire Premier 1A aircraft VT-KBN was on its way from HAL to the Kempegowda International Airport when the technical snag occurred. The pilot immediately informed air traffic control and made an Airturnback, returning to HAL Airport.

The aircraft landed safely with its nose gear in the Up position. There were two pilots on board, but no passengers. Neither of the pilots was injured.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the incident. An 'Airturnback' refers to the scenario in which an aircraft unexpectedly returns to the departure aerodrome for landing, despite not having initially intended to do so. T
he primary cause for an 'Airturnback' is typically an emergency or unusual circumstance that occurs during or shortly after take-off, with engine failure being the most frequent occurrence.
