Businessmen asked to supply goods to unregistered dealers

Shimla: The Excise and Taxation department has taken serious view of the fact that many registered businesses are not supplying goods to small businesses on the pretext that such small businesses do not have GSTIN number.

A spokesman of the department said here today that such action of the registered businesses is contrary to the provisions of GST law and registered business should not hesitate in making supplies to unregistered businesses.

He said that a registered business is required to charge same tax irrespective of the registration status of the recipient. Moreover, it is the duty of tax administration to see whether a person required registration under GST or not.
