'This budget will help farmers tremendously,' says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed his government's last pre-poll budget as a "big step" towards achieving Ease of Business and Ease of Living.

In his first post- budget speech, PM Modi said that "This budget has devoted attention to all sectors, ranging from agriculture to infrastructure. This Budget is farmer friendly, common citizen friendly, business environment-friendly and development friendly,"

"From food processing to fiber optics, roads to shipping, youth to senior citizen, rural India to Ayushmaan Bharat, Digital India to Start Up India, this budget strengthens hopes and aspirations of crores of Indians. This budget will accelerate economic growth, it is focused on all sectors. I congratulate the Finance Minister for the decision regarding Minimum Support Price. I am sure it will help the farmers tremendously," said PM Modi.

"The budget announcements will add to 'Ease of Living'. Our farmers have produced record grains and vegetables. To strengthen farmers further, this budget has taken several important steps. Our welfare schemes will have direct benefit for Dalits, poor and backward citizens who are standing at the end of society." he added.
