Budget Day 2024 Recap: Major Highlights From FM Nirmala Sitharaman's Key Announcements
Budget 2024 Highlights:- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday tabled the interim budget for the next quarter only due to elections slated in next 3 months. The Finance Minister informed the house that the full budget for fiscal year 2024-25 will be presented in July.
This was the sixth time (five full budgets and one interim budget) that she presented the financial roadmap under the Narendra Modi government. In her address, the Finance Minister made many key takeaways including no change in direct or indirect taxes, building 2 crore new houses for the poor under PM Awas Yojna, and a boost for milk and dairy farming industries.

Ahead of the budget session, President Droupadi Murmu wished luck to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as she bestowed her with "dahi cheeni (curd and sugar)."
