BSF Foils Massive Infiltration Bid By Bangladeshi Nationals In West Bengal

The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully prevented several significant attempts by a large group of Bangladeshi nationals from entering West Bengal along the international border (IB) on Wednesday. This action was taken amidst the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, where fears of attacks by protestors led many to gather near the border in two sectors.

In its statement, the BSF highlighted that "these gatherings were prompted by fears of attacks by protestors within Bangladesh." Demonstrating "exceptional vigilance," BSF personnel swiftly responded, ensuring both border security and the safety of the Bangladeshi nationals.

In one sector, with the cooperation of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and local authorities, the BSF managed to convince around 35 civilians to return to their homes. The statement mentioned that "BSF, along with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and other local authorities, assured the people gathered near the borders to return to their homes."

In another sector, a group of Bangladeshi villagers caused a brief commotion near the border, but the situation was peacefully resolved with no adverse incidents. The BSF noted that "the villagers returned to their homes, and BSF forces remain on high alert."

The BSF also thwarted another infiltration attempt when a "large Bangladeshi crowd" was observed near the border. In collaboration with BGB, the BSF dispersed the crowd, preventing any breach of the international border.

Addressing rumors, the BSF clarified that "there is no widespread movement of the minority population from Bangladesh towards the Indian border." The individuals involved were primarily motivated by fears of local unrest, and with the coordination of BGB and Bangladeshi civil authorities, they were reassured of their safety and encouraged to return home.
