BRS Accused of Hindering Congress Development Projects by Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has accused the BRS of hindering Congress-led development initiatives. He claimed that BRS leader K T Rama Rao would face imprisonment for allegedly conspiring in a recent attack on government officials. The incident occurred on November 11 during a public hearing for land acquisition in Kodangal, Vikarabad district, where officials were reportedly assaulted by unruly individuals.

BRS Hinders Congress Development Projects in Telangana

Reddy addressed a gathering at Vemulawada after participating in various development activities. He explained that the land acquisition aimed to establish industries and create jobs in the underdeveloped Kodangal area. He criticised BRS leaders for opposing police cases related to the attack, suggesting they were obstructing justice.

BRS Allegations and Development Projects

The Chief Minister also accused BRS MLA T Harish Rao, nephew of party president K Chandrasekhar Rao, of disrupting the Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation project. This project is intended to irrigate 100,000 acres of land. Reddy questioned whether Chandrasekhar Rao supported the language used by his son and nephew, and if they opposed land acquisition and industrial development in Telangana.

Reddy highlighted that land acquisition is essential for development projects. He pointed out that similar acquisitions occurred during the BRS regime for irrigation projects and establishing a pharma city. To facilitate current projects, he instructed senior officials to significantly raise land values to encourage owners to sell their plots.

Political Tensions and Accusations

Reddy criticised K T Rama Rao's visit to Delhi when family members of those arrested in the November 11 attack met NHRC officials. He warned Rama Rao that despite such actions, he would eventually face jail time for his alleged conspiracy. Reddy's comments reflect ongoing political tensions between the Congress and BRS parties in Telangana.

The Chief Minister also targeted Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar. He questioned Kumar's contribution to development despite being elected twice from Karimnagar to the Lok Sabha. This criticism underscores Reddy's broader dissatisfaction with opposition leaders' roles in regional development.

Reddy's statements highlight his commitment to advancing development projects in Telangana despite facing opposition from BRS leaders. His focus remains on ensuring land acquisition proceeds smoothly to facilitate industrial growth and job creation in areas like Kodangal.
