BRS Leader K Kavitha Slams BJP, Says Not Money Laundering, It Is Political Laundering Case

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Leader and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, K Kavitha, slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stating that the case against her is fabricated and soon she will come out clean, adding that she has complete faith in Indian judicial system. Attacking the Narendra Modi government, Kavitha added that it is not a money laundering case, it is a political laundering case. BJP is leaving no stone unturned to attack Opposition and she might be lodged in the jail temporarily.

Speaking to the media, before being produced before the judge in the Rouse Avenue court, the BRS leader said no money laundering happened in now-scrapped Delhi Liquor Policy. She further said one of the accused in the same case has already joined the BJP, the second is contesting election on a BJP ticket and the third had given Rs 50 crore to the BJP in the form of electoral bonds.

K Kavitha

K Kavitha was arrested on March 15 by the Enforcement Directorate from her Hyderabad residence and was sent to a 6-day custody. The remand was later extended for 3 more days, till March 26, and today, she was produced before the court.

The Enforcement Directorate has been alleging that K Kavitha was the kingpin of the 'South Lobby' which helped the Aam Aadmi Party with a whopping amount, which the Delhi ruling party used during the Goa Assembly election.

However, BRS's Kavitha junked all the allegations stating it is a conspiracy done by BJP and Prime Minister to stop popular leaders of the Opposition from campaigning.

At the time of K Kavitha's arrest, her brother and BRS's working president KT Rama Rao, warned the ED officials of repercussions. "Abuse of power and institutional misuse to settle political scores is something that has become increasingly common with BJP govt in last 10 years, "KTR had said in a post after K Kavitha's arrest while criticising BJP stooping so low.
