Break-Up, Frequent Fights: Cops Dig Reasons Behind Delhi Teen’s Murder

The Delhi Police has revealed that the reason behind the murder of the 16-year old by Sahil was due to a breakup.

He has told the police that he was enraged following a fight with the victim, which took place a day earlier. This has led to the gruesome killing of the teen, the police also said.

The probe revealed that the victim had been in a relation with Sahil since 2021. However there were frequent arguments and this has strained their relationship. Following this the girl stopped talking to Sahil. The police said that he had made several attempts to reconcile, but all of them failed.

The relationship only worsened following a fight they had on Saturday and this was the reason behind the murder, an official told OneIndia.

The police also investigating a tattoo on the victim's hand that read, 'Praveen.' This could have also been a reason why the two argued so much.

Sahil was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. A call from his aunt to his father helped the police trace him.

"As soon as the police received the information about the woman's death, Sahil's parents were detained on Sunday night. We found that Sahil had been calling them, and on the basis of technical surveillance, a dedicated police team rushed for the identified location and nabbed Sahil near Bulandshahr. To ensure his arrest, his father was also taken with the police team, " Special Commissioner of Police, Dependra Pathak said.

The CCTC footage showed Sahil pinning the victim to a wall and repeatedly stabbing her. He is seen jabbing the knife into her 16 times and then kicking her and then slamming a cement slap on her repeatedly.

The detailed postmortem report is yet to come out. The police have registered a case of murder against Sahil.
