Boy kidnapped and murdered for Rs 10 crore

Secunderabad, March 18: In a horrifying incident, a class 10 student from Begum Bazar was found stuffed in a carton after being kidnapped from near his house. While police have picked up three suspects for their role in the abduction and murder of the boy, they are yet to trace the actual culprit.

The suspects have been picked up based on their mobile tower location. The boy was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 10 crore, but was killed before the family could arrange for the money.

Abhay had left his house at around 3 pm to buy tiffin, but did not return. At around 5 pm, the members of the family approached the Shahinayathgunj police and lodged a complaint. While they were searching for Abhay, they received an anonymous call, demanding for a ransom of Rs 10 crore from his businessman father.

At around 11 pm, Gopalpuram police were alerted about a boy's body found in a crouching position, with hands wired. The carton where he was dumped in was abandoned near Alpha Hotel near the Secunderabad railway station.

A CCTV footage showed the boy pillion riding a scooter driven by an unidentified man near his house.

Abhay's father Kumar owns a plastic company and it is suspected that the murderers were his employees. Basing on the CCTV footage at the Alfa hotel, the police zeroed in on the suspects who were aboard a train to Vijaywada. A reward money of Rs 1 lakh has been announced for info on the suspects.
