'Pipe bomb' with letter found in train; Rs 10 cr sought from Railway Minister
New Delhi, Jan 29: A 'Pipe bomb' was found outside toilet of S-3 coach of 1094 Mahanagari Express on Thursday. The bomb which created panic among passengers of the train was found near Manikpur station in Uttar Pradesh.
According to a Hindi Daily report, a passenger Anil Kumar, who was traveling in the train going from Varanasi to Mumbai, informed police about the bomb. A letter note was also found where someone had asked Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to pay Rs 10 crore in installments.
After receiving information about bomb in the train, Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately issued alert at all railway stations, including Mumbai. Later, sniffer dogs and bomb squads were also pressed into service to deal with any untoward incident.
Content of the letter
The letter was written in English. Police guessed that one who wrote the letter must be an educated person.
Reportedly in the note, an unknown person had asked Railway Minister to pay Rs 10 crore in installments. Letter expressed anguish and asked Railways why nobody receives right compensation after the train accidents.
In the letter, unknown person wrote that if Suresh Prabhu was ready to pay the amount then he should ask Railway administration to hang a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on S4 and S5 coaches of train.
