Bomb Threat At Delhi's North Block: Rapid Response By Police Bomb Squad
An email threat regarding a bomb was received by the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Delhi's North Block, as stated by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
A team of bomb disposal squad, accompanied by fire tenders, has been dispatched to the spot.

This incident represents the latest among a series of hoax bomb emails that have been sent to schools, airports, hospitals, and jails in the national capital.
Additionally, similar threats have been received by schools in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. Following a hoax email threat leading to the evacuation of students and staff at over 150 schools in Delhi, an investigation has been initiated by the Delhi Police. The threat mail, purportedly originating from a mail.ru server, claimed that explosives had been planted on school premises in Delhi.
On Monday, it was stated by the Delhi Police that the hoax bomb threats are suspected to have originated from Budapest, with further investigations to be conducted in collaboration with Hungarian counterparts.
An officer involved in the investigation disclosed that the threat was sent from the mail ID, '[email protected]', which had a domain based in Russia. It was noted that establishing the person's connectivity would be a challenge, as the IP addresses may be associated with a VPN. It was mentioned that Interpol's assistance would be sought by sending a Demi Official (DO) letter, seeking details of the person who registered the email address.
On May 6, the need to prepare a detailed protocol and standard operating procedures (SOP) for such situations was emphasized by the Union home ministry. Coordination between the Delhi Police and schools to avoid unnecessary panic due to misinformation was stressed, along with enhancing security measures, including CCTV cameras and regular monitoring of emails in schools.
An advisory was issued by the Delhi government to educational institutes, urging them to promptly check their official emails following the hoax bomb threat at schools in the national capital.
