Bomb scare: Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi express declared safe
New Delhi, Jan 3: There is heavy security at the Delhi railway station following a bomb scare. The security officials are taking nothing to chance following the Pathankot attack yesterday.
Early this morning there was a bomb scare on the Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi express. However the situation has been declared safe and the train has left the railway station.
Immediately after this all passengers were evacuated and searched. The dog squad too was pressed into service.
It may be a hoax as such calls normally are made after a terror strike. In this case the officials received a letter citing a bomb threat.
A railway official informed that there is no cause for panic and a thorough search of the trains were conducted following which it has been declared safe.
New Delhi is already on high alert following a series of intercepts suggesting terror strikes ahead of Republic Day.
