Bollywood Actor R Madhavan Replaces Shekhar Kapur As FTII President
Bollywood actor R Madhavan has been appointed as the President of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and Chairman of the governing council replacing filmmaking Shekhar Kapur who held the position since September 2020.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur took to platform X, formerly Twitter to congratulate the 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' actor. "Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I'm sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you (sic)."

Recently the actor won the National Award for his directorial debut 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' for the Best Feature Film at the 69th National Film Awards after the successful landing of Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon's south pole.
The actor expressed his gratitude for the achievement through a heartfelt message on platform X, formerly Twitter.

R Madhavan's directorial debut, 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', a biographical drama revolved around the life of former ISRO scientist S Nambi Narayanan. The film also showcased S Nambi Narayanan's days as a scientist after his education at Princeton University.
The actor is well-known for his outstanding performances in 3 Idiots, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Tanu Weds Manu, 13B. Rang De Basanti, Guru, Vikram Vedha.
The Rocketry actor will be next seen in Sashikanth directorial 'Test' that revolves around the world of cricket. Madhavan plays the lead role in the film.
