BLS International Clarifies Indian Visa Suspension For Canadian Travelers

The private agency responsible for handling Indian visa applications for Canadian travelers, BLS International, has clarified that the suspension of Indian visas for Canadians has been carried out in accordance with official requirements. While the Ministry of External Affairs has yet to make a formal announcement regarding this suspension, sources have indicated that such an announcement may be forthcoming.

A source from BLS International, which processes Indian visas for Canadian citizens, explained that decisions to suspend visas are typically made at the government level and are then implemented by private agencies like BLS International that handle Indian visas for foreign nationals.

Earlier, a notice appeared on BLS International's website stating, "Important notice from Indian mission: Due to operational reasons, with effect from September 21, 2023, Indian visa services have been suspended until further notice." There was a brief period when this notice disappeared, causing confusion, but it later reappeared on the blsindia-canada.com website.

BLS International is a prominent visa processing company serving numerous countries.

A source from the High Commission of Canada mentioned that they were not aware of any "formal suspension" but emphasized that the visa policy is solely within the jurisdiction of the High Commission of India in Ottawa and the Ministry of External Affairs.
