Blast at Imphal market complex: 4 killed, 23 injured

Imphal, March 11: Four persons were killed on the spot and 23 others injured - some of them seriously - when a powerful bomb exploded at Imphal market complex on Wednesday evening, official sources said.

They said the explosion took place at around 6 pm.

The injured were taken to Regional Institute of Medical Science Hospital for treatment; the condition of some of them is said to be serious.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far, sources said, adding that two of the victims were non-Manipuri persons.

Senior administration and police officials have rushed to the spot.
