BJP's Sushil Modi Rejects Nitish Kumar's Return To NDA, Calls Him A Burden
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sushil Modi dismissed Union Minister Ramdas Athawale's claim about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's potential return to the NDA, stating that the BJP has firmly closed its doors for him.
Speaking to ANI, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Modi, emphasized that even if Nitish Kumar wishes to return, the BJP is not willing to welcome him back. He referred to Athawale as a leader of a party and a Union Minister, indicating that his statement may be a personal opinion rather than an official stance of the BJP or the NDA.

Sushil Modi expressed his view that Nitish Kumar has become a burden, asserting that his ability to transfer votes has diminished. He further speculated that the RJD might not be able to bear this burden for long. According to him, Nitish Kumar's political significance lies in his capacity to garner votes, and without that, he holds no influence.
On the other hand, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale praised Nitish Kumar for his work in Bihar and claimed that the Chief Minister can return to the NDA at any time. However, he expressed his disappointment about Nitish Kumar's decision to leave the NDA and join the 'Mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance) in August 2022, leading to the BJP's removal from power in the state. Athawale also advised Kumar not to attend the next Opposition meeting in Mumbai, suggesting that he should stay with the NDA instead.
