BJP President J P Nadda Urges Party Workers to Prepare for Upcoming Panchayat Elections in Himachal Pradesh
Union Health Minister J P Nadda urged BJP members to prepare for the upcoming panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh. He emphasised the need to register all senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The elections in Nadda's home state are expected in January next year. This call to action was made during a meeting of Himachal BJP's core committee in Solan.

Nadda participated in the Tiranga Yatra organised by the BJP's Solan district. He travelled in an open jeep, interacting with party workers along the way. Hundreds of supporters greeted him, chanting slogans to support the armed forces. The event also saw participation from prominent leaders like Jai Ram Thakur and Saudan Singh.
Upcoming Events and Celebrations
The BJP plans several events to mark 11 years of the Narendra Modi government's Sankalp se Siddhi Tak initiative. State BJP chief spokesperson Randhir Sharma announced that Sankalp Sabha will be held in all mandals for the Viksit Bharat pledge. Additionally, World Environment Day will be observed on June 5, followed by International Yoga Day on June 21.
Yoga training camps are scheduled from June 15 to 20 across all mandals. On June 25, seminars will discuss the Emergency's impact on democratic rights. The Loktantra Senani Samman will honour those arrested during this period. These activities aim to engage communities and reflect on historical events.
Controversy Surrounding Vimal Negi's Death
Controversy surrounds the mysterious death of Vimal Negi, Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation's chief engineer. Negi disappeared on March 10, and his body was discovered in Bilaspur on March 18. His family staged a protest outside the HPPCL office in Shimla with his body, demanding answers.
Negi's wife accused senior officers of torturing him for six months and forcing him to work late despite his illness. The case has been transferred to the CBI by the Himachal Pradesh High Court for further investigation.
BJP leader Bindal criticised Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for not cooperating with investigations into Negi's death. He highlighted issues with how Negi's pen drive was handled and expressed concerns about public trust in the government.
The BJP continues its efforts to strengthen its presence in Himachal Pradesh through various initiatives and events. As preparations for the panchayat elections intensify, party leaders focus on engaging with local communities and addressing pressing issues like Negi's case.
