BJP to Fall Short of 200 Seats in Lok Sabha Polls, KCR Forecasts

In a recent interview, BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao made bold predictions about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, stating that the BJP would struggle to secure more than 200 seats. This assertion places significant emphasis on the role of regional parties in the formation of the next government. Rao, often referred to as KCR, dismissed the BJP's ambitious '400 paar' slogan as unrealistic, highlighting the party's challenges in making substantial gains, especially in southern states where he anticipates they will secure barely five to ten seats.

BJP Under 200 Seats: KCRs Forecast

Addressing comments by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding BJP's expectations from the first two phases of the elections, KCR accused the party of spreading propaganda. He recalled the BJP's performance in the 2023 Telangana assembly polls where it lost deposits in 64 seats, using this as evidence to support his claims about the party's diminishing influence.

On the topic of potential alliances post-elections, Rao indicated that either the BJP or Congress would need to seek support from regional parties to form a government. He criticized both national parties for their achievements over 75 years of independence, questioning their impact on India's development and pointing out ongoing issues such as power shortages which deter investors like Tesla.

KCR also addressed his party's stance in the Lok Sabha elections, clarifying that BRS is not aligned with either NDA or the INDIA alliance. He expressed confidence in BRS winning more than a dozen seats despite criticisms from BJP and Congress leaders regarding BRS's relevance in these elections.

The BRS leader vehemently denied any involvement in a liquor scam, labeling his daughter K Kavitha's arrest as a baseless conspiracy orchestrated by Prime Minister Modi. He accused Modi of targeting opposition leaders who pose a significant challenge to him.

Rao also shared his recovery from a fracture he suffered in December last year and downplayed the impact of recent defections from BRS following the assembly election defeat. He criticized the Election Commission for imposing a 48-hour ban on him while allegedly ignoring objectionable comments from other political figures.

Highlighting his bus yatra's positive reception among people, Rao argued that this indicates public support for BRS over BJP and Congress. He also responded to concerns about potential changes to the Constitution by BJP if re-elected, questioning the benefits of Modi's tenure for any section of society and criticizing Modi's economic policies for leading to a decline in the value of the Indian rupee.

In conclusion, KCR's statements reflect a strong belief in the pivotal role regional parties will play in shaping India's political landscape post-Lok Sabha elections. His critique of both BJP and Congress underscores a call for change and greater representation for regional interests at the national level.
