BJP’s Vijay Divas to mark its grand re-entry into Uttar Pradesh
On March 18, the BJP is going to host Vijay Divas across Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the party's win in the UP polls.
Lucknow, March 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party is making its comeback in Uttar Pradesh after a gap of 15 years. The saffron party is all set to govern India's largest state after it won the recently concluded UP Assembly elections with a huge mandate. In the 403-member UP Assembly, the BJP won 325 seats.
In order to celebrate its massive win, the party is all set to host Vijay Divas (Victory Day) across the state on March 18. Reports say top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and home minister Rajnath Singh, to name a few, are likely to take part in the celebrations. However, voters of the state are wondering when the BJP will announce the name of the chief ministerial candidate to head the government.

It has been five days since the election results were announced, however, the BJP is yet to finalise on the name of the CM candidate. Several top leaders are in fray to grab the plum job. Some of the top contenders for the CM post in the saffron party are home minister Singh and UP BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya, to name a few.
Party insiders say the decision to select the CM candidate rests on PM Modi and Shah. Many also say that a young face with strong connection with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is likely to be the next UP CM. Till the BJP announces the name of its CM candidate, all the guessing game will continue. Since both PM Modi and Shah played the pivotal role in helping the BJP come to power in the state, all eyes are now fixed on these two top leaders to make the announcement of BJP's CM name soon.
