BJP-RSS leaders meet to take stock of prevailing situation in the country
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party leadership and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders are having a four-day coordinating meeting on different issues that may impact the next general elections.
Today the meeting was organized on the economic issue in which leaders from different organisation within the Sangh canvass participated to take stock of the situation and discuss the future plan of action.
If sources are to be believed then issues like rising prices of petroleum products, disinvestment of Air India, corruption in banking sector and resentment of the employees of the banking industry, the issue of Vendanta in Tamil Nadu, labour law issues and issues of farmers were some important matters that have been deliberated upon.
However, Akhil Bharatiya Prachaar Pramukh of the RSS Arun Kumar said that Swayamsevaks are active through 35 different organisations in various fields. Organisations working in the same field occasionally come together to share their experiments, experiences and observations.
To enable detailed discussions these organisations are grouped in various segments working in the same field. They are grouped as Seva (Service activities) Vaicharik (Intellectual arena), Arthik (Economy), Shiksha (Education), Samajik (social activities) etc.
Meeting of such group has been taking place every year since 2007. This year some of these groups have planned their meetings from 28 to 31 May, 2018 in Delhi.
He further said that neither these are Samanvay (coordination) meetings nor these are decision making meetings. But as per sources top leadership of the BJP that include Party president Amit Shah, National Organisation secretary Ram Lal, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, national BJP joint general secretary (organisation) V Satish, Union ministers Suresh Prabhu, Piyush Goyal and Santosh Gangawar were present in the meeting.
Besides that leaders from Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh were also present.
Sources said, "Such meetings keep on happening but we don't discuss agenda and date with anyone."
However he accepted that plethora of issues have been discussed in the meeting. The matter of disinvestment of Air India is being discussed and the RSS is showing keen interest in it.
There are some issues where the affiliate organizations of the RSS are not in agreement with the policy of the BJP all these issues need to be brought on the same page before the nation goes on poll mode.
