Kejriwal Claims BJP Seeks Power in Delhi to Undermine AAP Welfare Initiatives
The BJP aims to seize control in Delhi not to serve the populace but to halt AAP's initiatives like free electricity, education, and healthcare, according to party leader Arvind Kejriwal. Speaking at a gathering in Pitampura, Kejriwal cautioned against internal conflicts, warning it could lead to AAP's defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

He urged party members not to worry about election candidates, assuring them that he would handle all 70 seats. "I will get your work done no matter who is elected as an MLA," he stated. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva countered by asserting that AAP's fate is sealed and it will be ousted from Delhi in the February 2025 Assembly polls.
BJP's Intentions and AAP's Concerns
Sachdeva claimed that Delhi residents have decided to reject AAP's government due to its alleged corruption and anarchism. He mocked Kejriwal for contesting 90 seats in the recent Haryana elections as if he were running for all of them, only to lose each one. Kejriwal expressed concern that if BJP gains power, they will discontinue free schemes for electricity, water, women's bus rides, healthcare, and education.
Kejriwal voiced his worries about the potential impact on government schools if AAP does not win. He predicted increased electricity and water rates. He also mentioned that projects like road repairs, old age pensions, free hospital medicines, the Farishtey scheme for accident victims' treatment, and free coaching for reserved categories were halted during his imprisonment but have now resumed.
Role of Mandal Ward In-Charges
Kejriwal emphasised the crucial role of mandal ward in-charges in the upcoming elections. They are tasked with connecting with booth-level workers and voters. Each mandal unit in-charge will oversee five booths and manage teams of 11 workers per booth. He encouraged AAP workers to dedicate three to four months away from their jobs to support the party's election campaign.
The AAP was established for the nation rather than power. Kejriwal compared their dedication to historical figures like Bhagat Singh, Ambedkar, Gandhiji, and Nehru, stating that if they had worked part-time, India would not have gained independence. He stressed that the Assembly polls are crucial for preserving Delhi and its welfare schemes.
Kejriwal accused BJP of wanting power not to serve Delhiites but to halt their initiatives. He claimed BJP governs 22 states where people demand free electricity, schools, and hospitals. Thus, they aim to take over Delhi at any cost to stop AAP's schemes.
