BJP Paints MP, Chhattisgarh And Rajasthan Saffron With Hindi Heartland Wins

With massive victories in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) painted crucial Hindi heartland states with Saffron color. These state victories will surely power the saffron front for the Lok Sabha elections due next year. The BJP with its allies has now extended its footprints to 17 states and union territories.

Out of five states that went under polling, the BJP emerged victorious in three states, while Congress and Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) bagged one state each. Congress prominent Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel managed to secure victories in their constituencies but lost as the chief ministers for Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh respectively.

With the help of the political map given below, one can easily see the BJP-ruled regions (saffron color) that accumulate to 58 percent of India's land area, where 57 percent of the population lives. Meanwhile, the blue color on the map signifies areas government by the Congress, which is around 41 percent of the country's land area with 43 percent of the population as of December 2023.

After winning three states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the party cadre for working hard throughout the year and voters of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh for voting BJP to power. In his address, PM Modi also thanked the people of Telangana, where the party faced a defeat, for rapidly increasing the vote share and promised that the Centre will continue to provide support and help to the state.
