BJP MP Ravi Kishan Receives Death Threat Over Phone; Caller Claims to Be from Bihar

Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP from Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan Shukla, has reportedly received a death threat call allegedly made from Bihar. The caller, identifying himself as Ajay Kumar Yadav from Jwania village in Ara district, issued direct threats to kill the MP for his "remarks against Yadavs."

The threat call was picked up by Ravi Kishan's private secretary, Shivam Dwivedi, on Friday, October 31. Officials said the caller used abusive and communal language, warning that he was "keeping a close watch" on the MP's movements.

"Ravi Kishan comments against Yadavs, so I will shoot him," the caller allegedly said.

When Shivam Dwivedi clarified that the MP had never made any offensive remarks against any community, the caller reportedly became more aggressive and hurled fresh abuses. He even warned that when the MP visits Bihar "after four days," he would "kill him."

Communal Remarks During the Call

Police sources revealed that the accused made religiously charged statements and referred to Bhojpuri actor and RJD leader Khesari Lal Yadav's controversial comments about building an "apostle place" instead of the Ram Temple. The caller allegedly went on to make derogatory remarks about Lord Ram and the Ayodhya temple, further escalating the gravity of the threat.

Police Action Underway

Following the incident, Ravi Kishan's secretaries Shivam Dwivedi and Pawan Dubey met Gorakhpur SSP and submitted a written complaint, urging immediate action and enhanced security.

Authorities have since launched an investigation to trace the caller's location and verify his identity. Police are also reviewing the MP's security cover, considering the seriousness of the threat.

Ravi Kishan, a popular Bhojpuri and Hindi film actor, has represented Gorakhpur in the Lok Sabha since 2019. Known for his outspoken views on cultural and religious issues, the MP often remains in the public eye for his fiery speeches and film career alike.

Officials confirmed the case is being treated as high-priority, with additional forces likely to be deployed around his residence and office in the coming days.
