With just five days remaining until the start of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its election manifesto on the morning of April 14.

The manifesto, titled "Sankalp Patra," was launched at the party headquarters in Delhi, graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other senior party members.

The release of the manifesto coincided with the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a prominent leader from the Dalit community.

During his address at the BJP headquarters, PM Modi credited the government's schemes and programs for transforming lives, describing it as "the biggest achievement of our government over the last 10 years."

Key promises were announced, including extending Ayushman Yojana coverage to every individual aged 70 or above and raising the Mudra scheme's loan limit to 20 lakh rupees.

The BJP has committed to implementing the Nyaya Sanhita in the country upon returning to power, resolving issues related to waiting lists on trains, progressing work on bullet trains in the Northeast, developing 5G and 6G technology, and achieving self-reliance in energy.

Transgender individuals will be encompassed within the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and the next five years will prioritize and celebrate women's involvement and contributions. Women will receive training in various sectors, including IT, tourism, education, healthcare, and retail. Rural women will have the opportunity to train as drone pilots through the NaMo Drone Didi Yojana.

The party also committed to a holistic approach towards disaster mitigation and boosting disaster resilience in the Himalayan states, given the fragile nature of the Himalayan ecology and rising instances of natural disasters in the region.

Additionally, the BJP pledged to establish an Anusandhan Fund with an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore to promote scientific research in the nation.

The manifesto drafting process incorporated inputs from online contributors and individuals engaged through offline party efforts, as previously announced by PM Modi. The BJP actively sought suggestions from diverse demographics, with national president JP Nadda recently launching 'Viksit Bharat Modi ki Guarantee' video vans that traversed the nation, gathering public feedback to shape the party's manifesto content.

PM Modi is vying for a third term in office, aiming to secure over 400 seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies. Central to the BJP's election campaign is its development agenda and the pledge to achieve a developed India, termed Viksit Bharat, by 2047. PM Modi and other party leaders have outlined their vision to propel India into the league of the top three global economies.
