BJP lost Rajasthan bypolls as Padmaavat wasn't banned, says Karni Sena

Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi on Wednesday claimed that the ruling BJP government had lost in all three bypolls seats in Rajasthan as it had not banned Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'movie in the state.

BJP lost Rajasthan bypolls as Padmaavat wasn't banned, says Karni Sena

Speaking to ANI, Rajput Karni Sena said,''This is not the victory of a party, it is the victoty of our Sangharsh Samiti. Public supported our Sangharsh & voted against BJP. If BJP follows the same trend, the results will remain the same.''

Earlier in the day, the Congress wrested Mandalgarh Assembly seat in Rajasthan from the BJP and also won both the Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha seats.

Bypolls were necessitated in these three seats due to the deaths of the sitting lawmakers. Ajmer MP Sanwar Lal Jat, Alwar MP Chand Nath and Mandalgarh MLA Kirti Kumari (all of BJP) passed away in 2017.
