BJP Leader Sushil Kumar Modi Diagnosed With Cancer
Former Bihar Chief Minister Sushil Kumar on Wednesday said that he has been diagnosed with cancer. He has decided to stay out of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In a post on X, Modi said, "I have been battling Cancer for the past 6 months. I felt that it was time to tell people about it. I will not be able to do anything during the Lok Sabha elections. I have told the Prime Minister everything..."

He was part of the BJP's star campaigners' list in Bihar.
The septuagenarian held the position of Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister on two occasions: first from 2005 to 2013 and later from 2017 to 2020.
With roots in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, he entered politics in the 1980s.
Expressing shock over the news, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said, "I pray for his speedy recovery so that he gets fully active to benefit the party workers like me with his profound political and social understanding and rich experience,"
BJP's Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde said that people's prayers will help Modi to recover fast. "I hope you will soon join us in our work. You have always worked for the people," he wrote.
Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said, "My brother Sushil ji, please never say that you will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections. While there might be be your physical presence, your unwavering spirit will continue to inspire every NDA worker. We eagerly await your swift recovery so you can rejoin us soon."
Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Sushil ji, I pray to God that you get well soon. I recognize the strength and courage within you and have known for a long time. I believe you will overcome the disease."
BJP will vote in six phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.
